When Vision collides with Reality

When Vision Collides with Reality

August 2013 Newsletter

Back in January I began a year-long quest to answer the question: What kind of impact does a high ranking website have, alongside a very focused Facebook Business page and an assortment of focused Offers?

VISION:

I wanted to test a theory that providing valuable information at a website and sharing it with lots of fans at a Facebook Business page would exponentially pay off – the number of people in my sales funnel would not only double, and I would convert prospects into clients.

The end goal was to build an Internet Marketing Coaching business, where my clients paid for the training, empowering them to really reach out to their target market, building relationships and converting their prospects into clients.

Actions taken to achieve VISION:

  1. Set up a website to host 365 Internet Marketing Tips.

  2. Set up a Facebook page (www.facebook.com/internetmarketingcoach365) to promote the website and my business.

  3. Establish a marketing budget at Facebook to invite LIKES to the business page.

  4. Offer a FREE webinar every month – 2013 Challenge; Add 1 new Internet Marketing Habit each month.

  5. Offered a FREE guide to Facebook Marketing and a subscription to this newsletter.

  6. Schedule Posts (once a week) at all of my social networking sites 6 – 10 times a day.

REALITY:

All of the above activities have so far paid off… to a degree.

  1. The website is up and getting about 20 – 50 visitors a day.

  2. After spending $235 in Facebook advertising I have over 1926 LIKES at www.facebook.com/InternetMarketingCoach365, and it is driving traffic to my website.

  3. The FREE webinars have done the most good, increasing my contact list with 131 subscribers

  4. The scheduling of posts at 10 different social networking sites 6 – 10 times a day has been sketchy, at best, and almost impossible to keep up with.

  5. So far I have 45 subscribers to my website, and a few subscribers to the Facebook Marketing guide.

  6. The prospects that I convert to clients want me to set up their websites, create content, reach out to their target market and convert prospects into clients for them.

So, here we are, in the first week of the 8th month of the year 2013 and it’s time to adjust my VISION:

  1. Instead of creating 7 new blogs a week, I will create at least one and sometimes two.

  2. Based on the results, I think it is time to provide 2 Free training webinars a month instead of just one.

  3. I set up a schedule to accomplish 5 posts a day at all of my social networking sites Instead of trying to do it all in one sitting, I spend about an hour a day, 5 days a week.

  4. And, since what my clients want websites, social networking and custom content, those are the services I am providing.

  5. And, I have added something new to my social networking arsenal – Google+ business marketing.

Sometimes you just have to go with the flow… However, I am not giving up on the Internet Marketing Coaching business, never-ever! For now, I am just adjusting to the needs of my clients, while at the same time focusing on the VISION… long-term.
