Internet Marketing Tips; Your personality should shine in your social networking posts - if it does, your business will most likely grow.
Ask yourself this question: When surfing at your favorite social networking site – would you rather read posts by someone pushing a sales agenda or read posts by someone sharing something interesting, profound or relevant? Personally, I prefer the latter.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again: We buy from people we know and like. Of course this isn’t always an option, however it is pretty common for buyers to choose a businessperson that we like and trust.
For example, think about the last time you walked into your favorite local restaurant. Before you walk in you know the food is going to be great, and it is always nice to be warmly welcomed. However, when your favorite server anticipates (and serves) your favorite beverage without being asked… well life doesn’t get much better than that. The more you visit this restaurant, the more you feel ‘known’ and valued.
Now, think in terms of the internet, when people get the chance to learn more about who you are as a person and what interests you, they find reasons to pay more attention to the business side of you.
How do you let your personality shine?
Share your passions, whatever they may be; muscle cars, gourmet food, community events, weight loss, etc. Do that, and you will find that when you share that passion, and reach out to other people with that same passion, you are more likely to convert friends, connections and followers into prospects, prospects into hot prospects, and hot prospects into clients. It is not easy, but it can be done.
Think about what you post before you post it. Would you feel comfortable talking to a complete stranger about a specific subject or event? If the answer is Yes, then it’s probably okay to share that same subject (or event) as a way of sharing more of your personality. If the answer is No – then don’t share it.
